If you're a parent, chances are, this thought has crossed your mind - especially during the holidays: "I'd love a vacation with the family. Somewhere close and kid-friendly". During Covid-19 restrictions: when travel options were narrowed, I was forced to think locally, be creative and decided to give Spreewelten Bad Lübbenau a try. I'm sure glad I did!
In my opinion, Spreewelten Bad, is quite similar to Tropical Islands, but with a slightly different model. It's smaller, more affordable and less fussy. It's also less crowded and easier to navigate. Spreewelten Bad has several attractions: you can look forward to interacting with real-life penguins, which kids will enjoy. There are various pools, two giant waterslides, an outdoor thermal pool, a splash pool for the littles, a wave pool, sauna and more. What can I say? We had a fabulous time!
Another pull factor was the relatively easy access from Berlin. With a car, it's super convenient; however, it's possible to get to Spreewelten Bad, Lübbenau using a regional train and a short taxi ride.
Here are the Top Three reasons I liked and highly recommend visiting Spreewelten Bad Lübbenau, especially for families.
It's a water park and resort in one. This means you can opt for either a day or overnight visit, making it suitable for various budgets. We spent one night and I was most pleasantly surprised with our room! Most pleasantly! Perhaps the best part was the penguin bunk beds which kids will love. The accomodation was very spacious, immaculately clean and well outfitted with a dishwasher and furnished kitchen. This gave us the options to prepare our own meals which worked so well! The bathroom had a unique and relaxing touch with an immersive photo of Spreewald. There was also a simple yet inviting balcony with access to lawn space where the kids can let off energy.
Price- this is always important to me. Yes, you want to save special memories, but you also want to save cash! I felt that Spreewelten Bad was very fairly priced, especially in terms of what you get. Service was professional, accessible and reliable and the grounds are clean. Oh check in and out was much, much easier than Tropical Islands!
Location! Location ! Location!- being a part of Spreewald which is well known for its river and agricultural produce, there's more to experience here outside of the resort itself. You can visit nearby attractions:
